Training Guides

The TRP for FP is a global resource package for trainers, supervisors, and program managers. It contains high quality, evidence based, user-friendly materials and resources for designing, conducting and evaluating training for family planning (FP) providers. The resource package is designed to address the needs of all providers – from less highly skilled to more advanced providers, including physicians.
General Facilitator's Guide
A General Facilitator's Guide is a handbook with strategies and tips for leading group activities, workshops, or discussions. It usually covers the facilitator's role, preparation steps, engagement techniques, and how to handle group dynamics or challenges. These guides are often used in education, training programs, NGOs, and team settings.

Options for Ice Breakers
An “ice breaker,” or “opener,” is an activity held at the beginning of a meeting or training to help participants relax, get to know each other, and begin a conversation. This document provides fourteen ideas for ice breaker activities, including details of materials needed, ideal size of group, approximate duration, and implementation tips. Facilitators may choose or adapt one or more of these activities for use as part of a TRP training.

Family planning and immediate post obstetric contraception courses

Two new virtual courses have been hosted in the Virtual Campus of Public Health developed by the Latin American Center for Perinatology, Women’s Health and Reproductive Health (CLAP). This platform was managed by Momentum Country and Global Leadership (MCGL), led by Jhpiego and partners until July 2025, and is presently managed by WHO department of Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health and Ageing: Advancing Life Course Health and Reproduction (LHR).
