In Memoriam
With profound sadness, we remember our departed colleague, Kate Dieringer. Kate worked with USAID as Senior Clinical Family Planning Technical Advisor. Alongside colleagues from WHO and UNFPA, she steered the management of the Training Resource Package for Family Planning, advising and shepherding the work to redesign the site, refresh modules, and moderate the community forum. She consistently guided us with dedication, ensured tools and content aligned with WHO standards, and was resolute in her determination to disseminate the site widely. Kate’s expertise and passion to empower healthcare providers worldwide to deliver quality family planning services was unwavering and left an indelible mark on our field. Our thoughts are with Kate’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. We will remember her kindness, generosity, beautiful smile, and the genuine care she extended to everyone she encountered. She will be missed, remembered, and honored always. New Training Guide on Blended Learning is now live!
Developed by USAID’s MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership, the newly developed Blended Learning Facilitator’s Guide provides a comprehensive framework for designing, implementing, and sustaining blended learning programs. The blended learning facilitator guide is designed to be used by clinical experts, facilitators and pre-service educators with an understanding of adult learning principles and the ability to provide clinical training on family planning (FP) topics in pre-service education or in-service training settings. This guide offers practical advice, tools, and resources to support educators in effectively planning for and delivering blended learning programs. New Updates to the Copper Intrauterine Devices Module
Developed by USAID’s MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership, the newly updated TRP module on Copper Intrauterine Devices (IUDs) is designed to support health care workers in developing the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to provide accurate information and counseling on intrauterine devices (IUDs) to clients and promote voluntary and informed choice. This new update to the module includes materials on Postpartum Family Planning (PPFP) and Postpartum Intrauterine Devices (PPIUDs) and allows health care workers in developing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to provide accurate information and counseling on PPFP and PPIUDs and to promote voluntary and informed choice and decision-making. Developed by USAID’s MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership, the new TRP module on Postpartum Family Planning (PPFP) is designed to support health care workers in developing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to provide accurate information and counseling on PPFP and to promote voluntary and informed choice and decision-making. On completion of this module, participants will be able to provide an overview of PPFP and healthy timing and spacing of pregnancies (HTSP) and educate mothers and their partners on the benefits of PPFP and HTSP and the contraceptive options available to them in the immediate, early, and extended postpartum period.
